
Babadag, Fethiye - Historical Places
Babadag south-western province of Mugla in Turkey in the eastern Mediterranean region is a mountain located in the town of Fethiye.
This mountain has two peaks. The altitude of the highest altitude peak is 1,969 meters. The altitude of the second peak called "Karatepe" is 1,400 meters. These two summits are facing each other and a deep valley passes through them. Both summits consist of limestone / limestone. Due to the fact that the two summits are separated, some geographers call Babadağı a "mountain range".
Babadağ attracts attention with its very rich plant species. These plants are between 1,400 m and 1,800 m altitude is very common in the field (Acer undulatum) Latin classified Up is trees and from this type of unique maple (Cedrus libani) Latin classified Up is unique to Turkey cedar wood species, forests are very important.
The Babadağı summit and the zirve Karatepe alt sub-summit are very close to the sea; distance from the sea does not exceed 5 km. For this reason, the "paragliding" sport with the route towards the sea has been developed for the tourists coming to Fethiye and its vicinity.
